A common fault on the Sony Vaio VGN-CS series of laptops is a loud grinding noise coming from the inside of the laptop. This is the CPU fan that has become damaged. You need to be careful to get this repaired as quickly as possible! Without the fan functioning correctly, the laptop isn’t generating a sufficient cooling system and can result in failure to motherboard components such as the CPU, GPU or worse.

This can be repaired by quite simply replacing the fan inside the laptop for a new one.

You can find the two fans that will fit into the CS series here;
